Howe & Jenks Townships, Forrest County PA
18,000 acres, Spacing for over 3500 Oil & Gas Wells
Depth of Targeted Pay Sands - 600 to 2,450 feet
The well logs from historical drilling programs suggest as many as 6 pay sands at various depths as deep
as 2,400 feet. One of the shallower producing wells id the Knox Sand at a 600 ft. depth, to more deeper pay-zones such as the Cooper Sands with an approximately 2,450 ft. depth.
Estimates of Porosity and Permeability
Porosity on this property is expected to be in the 8% to 16% range with the possibility to be significantly higher in certain pay sands. The porosity will vary with the specific sand, with the idea that figures above 10% will likely be economically viable production zones. In the Marienville Field to the south, the amount of porosity over 10% exceeds 100 feet in the center of the field where the Balltown and Cherry Grove sands have "grown" together.
